Rule 14
Eligibility required for promotion
(1) In order to be promoted to the post of military technical service, the following qualification should be fulfilled:- (a) Training as per Schedule 5 has been completed,
(b) Qualified in performance appraisal,
(c. In the case of military personnel who have the minimum educational qualification according to Rule 7, but who have entered the service through internal and open competition at the time of commencement of this regulation, promotion to the rank of major soldier based on the specified educational qualification upon entering the service will not be hindered.
(d) Completion of minimum period of service as per rule 15,
(e) Passed the Physical Fitness Test (BFT), but "injured in the course of military duty and unable to participate in the examination as per this section, if deemed fit for health classification as per rule 37 of the Military Regulations, he is eligible for promotion as per this regulation will be
(f) having a Body Mass Index (BMI) and health classification of two or less on the MDDI ICSIOS-G. (2. Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (a) of sub-rule (1), the following military personnel may become potential candidates for promotion for one year from the date of commencement of this regulation-
(a) Higher Command and Management not trained,
(b) The training mentioned in this regulation has not been done in the posts under Sainik Band sub-group and Asawav Khana sub-group.
(3) In order to be promoted to the rank of General and above in the military health group, one must have completed post-graduation in related subjects in medical sub-group and dental sub-group, post-graduation in related subjects in various medical trade sub-group and post-graduation (Masters in Nursing or M.Sc in Nursing) in nursing sub-group.
(4. To be promoted to the rank of general and above in the military engineering group, a master's degree in a related subject in the production sub-group, maintenance and maintenance sub-group, a master's degree in a related subject in the service sub-group or any subject, a master's degree in a related subject in the civil and architecture sub-group and information technology sub-group respectivelywill fall

(7) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rules (3), (4), (5) and (6), at the commencement of this rule, the Army Health Group, Army Engineering Group, Animal Development and Animal Health Group and Under other technical groups, even though they have not obtained post-graduation and master's degrees respectively in the positions of generals and above in various sub-groups, there will be no hindrance to promotion to higher positions for four years from the date of commencement of this regulation.
(8. In order to be promoted to the post of commander of the information technology sub-group under the military engineering group, one must have passed ten plus two or more in software, networking related training or I.E. (electronic or computer or IT) or academic computer diploma. .
(9) To be promoted to the post of Jamdar of band sub-group under other technical group, eight class or equivalent or Army First Class and Subedar post of band sub-group and to be promoted to the post of Jamdar of Assaw Khana sub-group and Ammunition Work Sub-group to SLC or the same or Army Must have passed first class.
